Estate planning is important for securing your family’s future. But in today’s busy world, traditional office visits to an attorney can be impractical for many families and individuals. That is why I have decided to implement a new mobile estate planning service. Beginning in May 2025, Williams Legal Services will be bringing estate planning directly to you with a mobile service that fits your schedule and lifestyle.
Why Mobile Estate Planning Works!
Many people delay estate planning because it is hard to find time for multiple office visits. Our mobile service removes that obstacle. We meet you at home, where you are most comfortable, creating the perfect setting for meaningful conversations about your family’s future.
By offering in-home estate planning throughout western St. Louis County, we make the process more accessible. Whether you are a parent juggling schedules, someone with limited mobility, or a busy professional, we bring our expertise to your doorstep.
Estate planning conversations are often personal and emotional. Discussing your legacy in a familiar setting can help you focus and feel at ease. It is our hope that having the option to handle your estate planning at home will allow for better conversations and more thoughtful decision making for those families that choose this route.
Why I Offer Mobile Estate Planning Services
I offer mobile estate planning in order to be more accessible for my clients. I have realized that I can offer the same high-quality service while making the experience more convenient and personal meeting clients at their home. In addition, the time I spend driving between appointments has become a quiet space to reflect on each client’s needs, and for continued learning through podcasts and audiobooks. I often use this time to think through legal strategies, prepare mentally for upcoming meetings, or unwind between visits. It helps me stay focused, refreshed, and ready to deliver my best work.
I also enjoy sharing what I am currently listening to with clients. It often sparks interesting conversations that can deepen our relationship beyond legal paperwork. Feel free to ask about what I’ve been listening to!
Where I Travel
I currently serve western St. Louis County, including Chesterfield, Wildwood, Ballwin, Ellisville, Manchester, Town and Country, Clarkson Valley, Grover, Creve Coeur, and Eureka. While I may expand my mobile estate planning in the future, I keep my service area focused to ensure every client receives the attention they deserve.
Prefer to meet in an office? You are welcome at our Chesterfield location, conveniently located just off Highway 40 at the Long Road exit. After taking the Long Road exit, drive over the highway and continue to the intersection of Long Road and Chesterfield Airport Road. Turn right onto Long Road, then immediately left onto Chesterfield Business Parkway. We are in the first office building on the left, a distinctive brick-and-glass building with plenty of parking in front and behind.
What to Expect When Planning Your Estate With Me
The process begins with a conversation about your family, your goals, and what matters most to you. This is not just about documents. It is about understanding your values, your concerns, and the legacy you want to leave.
Next, you will complete a secure online questionnaire through our DecisionVault platform. This tool makes it easy to share the necessary details while keeping your information safe and private. You can complete it at your own pace, and we are always available to answer questions as you go.
Once we have your information, we will schedule a design meeting. This can take place by phone, on Zoom, or in person, depending on what works best for you. During this meeting, we will walk through your options, explain legal terms in plain language, and make sure every part of your plan reflects your wishes.
Within two to three weeks, you will receive your draft documents along with a plainly written summary. We encourage you to take your time reviewing everything and to note any questions. We want you to feel confident and fully informed.
When you are ready, we will schedule a signing meeting at your home. All you will need is a quiet space and a clean table where we can sit together and finalize your plan. These meetings are designed to be efficient, respectful, and comfortable.
Signing at Home: What You Need to Know
Missouri law requires two witnesses for certain documents, such as wills and healthcare directives. These witnesses must not have any financial interest in your estate plan. For office signings, we provide witnesses. For home visits, we do our best to bring witnesses when possible, but availability can vary. Please note that for in-home signings, you may be required to provide your own disinterested witnesses. This may include trusted neighbors, friends, or community members.
After signing, we take your documents for scanning and any necessary property transfers. You will then receive an email with options to collect your estate plan binder, which includes all original documents and any related deeds.
Making Estate Planning Easier
Our goal is to remove as many obstacles as possible. By offering in-home consultations, we make estate planning more comfortable, more personal, and less stressful. You do not have to worry about traffic, childcare, or taking time off work. We come to you.
We understand that estate planning can feel overwhelming. Many people put it off for years, unsure where to begin. Our process is designed to guide you step by step. We provide clear explanations, honest advice, and a supportive environment where you can ask anything.
You will never feel rushed or pressured. We move at your pace, respecting your time and your decisions. Whether you are updating an old plan or starting from scratch, we are here to help.
